LA Knight shares excuse for SmackDown botch

LA Knight gave an interesting reason for a botch on this past Friday's edition of WWE SmackDown. The Megastar successfully defended his United States Championship during the show.

Andrade challenged for the United States Championship on WWE SmackDown but came up short. It was a hard-fought match, but in the end, it was Knight who emerged victorious after connecting with the Blunt Force Trauma.

The promotion shared an interview with the champion today on Instagram, and Knight praised Andrade for his effort in the match. LA Knight also admitted that he was tired, and that is why he botched his jump to the top rope to hit a Superplex on Andrade during the match.

"Man, I'll tell you what, Andrade, hell of a talent out there. But still, not enough to get you over the hump. I'll tell you like this man, not every piece of your offense is going to go right. He's seen it, I've seen it. Hell, I didn't make it to the top (rope). That is what happens when your legs are tired out there. It happens. But believe me my man, anybody walking, if one doesn't get you, the other one will, and that is exactly what happened," said Knight.

Former WWE manager reacts to LA Knight's match on SmackDown

Wrestling legend Dutch Mantell praised LA Knight following his match against Andrade on this past Friday's episode of Smackdown.

Speaking on the latest edition of Sportskeeda Wrestling's Smack Talk show, Mantell noted that Knight looked good in the match despite the botch. The veteran added that fans understand that not every move will happen exactly as planned.

"Even with the screwup, it made sense and they ended it right then. It worked out in LA Knight's favor. I think people understand that you're not gonna do every move perfectly. So he messed it up, not once but twice. Still, he moved out of the dropkick which is fine and we did the finish. I think it was good." [From 17:36 onwards]
