LA Knight shouldn't win the United States Championship at SummerSlam, according to WWE veteran (Exclusive)
Former WWE manager Dutch Mantell feels LA Knight is better off chasing titles in the company. The 41-year-old star is part of the SmackDown roster.
Last year at SummerSlam, Knight won the Slim Jim 25-man Battle Royal which started his push in WWE. Since then he has been a prominent star for the company and even had a lengthy run in the main event picture against Roman Reigns. However, the Megastar has no championship gold to show for his stardom. He will have a chance to change that at this year's SummerSlam when he goes up against Logan Paul for the United States Championship.
This week on Sportskeeda Wrestling's Smack Talk, Mantell felt LA Knight was in a better position chasing the title. The wrestling veteran revealed he would book the star in a long chase for championship gold, gathering more momentum in the process.
"Give him another big kick in the a*s and let him move out of the way. Just because he doesn't get it, when it gets it, you know what that means? He's gonna lose it. So I would drag it out as far as I could. That's what I would do. Whether it works or not, we'll have to see. But it will work. Because if Logan Paul is not gonna be around, I'd do it a different way." [33:10 onwards]
This week LA Knight defeated Santos Escobar in a singles matchup. However, he didn't have time to celebrate as he was mauled by Santos and Logan Paul in a beatdown.
It will be interesting to see if he can get retribution from the Social Media Megastar at SummerSlam.
