LA Knight wishes to continue unexpected WWE SummerSlam trend
All the athletes who step up to challenge the United States Champion, LA Knight, on SmackDown, he racks 'em up and knocks 'em down. It all started for The Megastar at SummerSlam, where he won the prestigious belt from Logan Paul.
Last year at The Biggest Party of the Summer, Knight won a 25-man Slim Jim SummerSlam Battle Royal, marking his debut at the premium live event. When asked about his undefeated run thus far, The Megastar claimed that he could take over the world.
Speaking to Reality of Wrestling, LA Knight reflected on potentially becoming "Mr. SummerSlam," something he believes has not been a thing before. However, based on his success rate thus far, it can be.
"Who knows? There’s never been one before. But yeah, I mean, now that you think about it, hell, the Slim Jim Battle Royal last year, the US Championship this year, yeah, who knows? Who knows what SummerSlam 25 could bring along? At this point, you know what, I took over the United States Championship. You’ve got to think about it—maybe I take over the world. Who knows? LA Knight has found his next challenger on WWE SmackDown
SmackDown's debut on the USA Network this past Friday featured Andrade El Idolo vs. Carmelo Hayes for the fifth time in the last month or so. Both athletes always find a way to bring something new to the table and this time was no different.
After stealing the show with Hayes, it was Andrade who picked up a noteworthy victory, ergo becoming LA Knight's next challenger for the United States Championship. Knight then walked out to the arena and cut a strong promo, assuring his fans that there was no way El Idolo was taking the title away from him.

The fresh pairing of Andrade and LA Knight is an intriguing choice, considering both men are babyfaces. The Megastar has so far defended his belt against Santos Escobar and Ludwig Kaiser. Where his reign goes from here bears watching.
