Latest update on MVP's status amid WWE absence - Reports
MVP has not appeared on WWE television since accompanying Omos in the 2024 Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal this past April. A media report has shed some light on the former United States Champion's contract status with the Stamford-based promotion.
The 50-year-old manager made headlines last month after he criticized WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H for not reuniting The Hurt Business when the opportunity presented itself.
Following his public outburst and prolonged absence from WWE TV, some fans wondered if the veteran was still contracted with the Sports Entertainment juggernaut. However, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reported that the veteran was still ''under contract'' with WWE.
"For those asking about an update on MVP, he’s still under contract with WWE as of now," Sapp said.
MVP officially returned to the company at the 2020 Royal Rumble Premium Live Event. He was hired as an on-screen character and a backstage producer. The 50-year-old helped form The Hurt Business and managed Bobby Lashley, who went on to win the United States Championship and the WWE Title.
When his collaboration with Lashley ended, the Miami native began managing Omos.
Booker T. advises MVP regarding his comments on social media
One of the wrestling personalities who reacted to MVP's outburst on social media last month was Booker T.
During an edition of his Hall of Fame podcast, the NXT commentator urged the former United States Champion to settle his differences with Triple H behind closed doors.
"I just think that stuff like that needs to be handled behind closed doors. No matter who says stuff like that. I've said that many, many times about certain things, as far as business goes. Business is not something we handle over the internet. It's just not. Business is something we handle behind closed doors from a business perspective. That's just me.
