Legend on possible betrayal between Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns at WWE Bad Blood (Exclusive)

Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns will face Jacob Fatu and Solo Sikoa at WWE Bad Blood on October 5. Legendary wrestling booker and manager Dutch Mantell believes the two-time WrestleMania opponents could renew their rivalry during the match.

In 2023, Reigns retained the Undisputed WWE Championship against Rhodes at WrestleMania 39. This year, The American Nightmare won a rematch at WrestleMania XL to become the first Rhodes family member to hold a WWE World Title.

Sportskeeda Wrestling's Smack Talk host Rick Ucchino questioned whether Reigns and Rhodes could work cohesively given their long-term rivalry. Mantell responded by speculating that they might struggle to coexist against the new-look Bloodline:

"Cohesively is a good word, but they would work cohesively up to a point and then we might almost see Cody wanting to leave him at one point, or Roman wanting to leave Cody at one point while they're beating the cr*p out of him." [3:27 – 3:52]

Even if they fall out during the match, Dutch Mantell still thinks Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns will emerge with the win in Atlanta, Georgia:

"Then they come in and they all wrap it up and put a little bow on it and they go one, two, three, and then of course now we tell the story for about 10 minutes after the match and we'll see what kind of crowd reaction you get." [3:57 – 4:14]

Why Dutch Mantell thinks Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns will feud again

In recent weeks, Roman Reigns has made it clear he wants another shot at Cody Rhodes' Undisputed WWE Championship.

According to Dutch Mantell, WWE's creative team will likely use Bad Blood as an opportunity to gauge fan reactions:

"This is what your creative team looks at. You can do all these drop kicks and this and that and the other, but when you start arguing and the people can feel the vibration in the building, they can feel the heat, that's what gives creative the ideas for the coming months. But I think they will have a good match, a great match, and they could fool us here a little bit." [4:15 – 4:46]

Reigns has not wrestled since losing to Rhodes on the second night of WrestleMania XL on April 7. The previous night, he teamed up with The Rock to beat Rhodes and Seth Rollins.
