Legend returning after a year and a half to confront Chad Gable on RAW could happen, says ex-WWE champion

Chad Gable had a fallout with his Alpha Academy teammates last Monday on WWE RAW after weeks of mistreatment from his side. A former 24/7 Champion now suggests that a Hall of Famer return after over a year of absence to confront the Olympian.

The legend in question is none other than Kurt Angle. The Olympic Gold Medalist last appeared on WWE TV in January 2023. Meanwhile, he has been retired from in-ring competition since 2019 after losing to Baron Corbin at WrestleMania 35. WWE Analyst and former 24/7 Champion Peter Rosenberg recently proposed having Angle return to confront Gable as the latter attacks his former teammates.

On his Cheap Heat podcast, Rosenberg pointed out that the company seemingly wanted to push the story between Gable and Otis for a few more weeks by having the latter only shove his leader and then leave the ring without destroying him. He then suggested a scenario where Gable would attack Otis, Akira Tozawa, and back Maxxine into a corner before Kurt Angle makes the save.

"How crazy would it be if in let's say in a couple weeks, whenever the moment is that it's time, you think Otis is finally gonna turn on Gable but before he does it, Gable knows it's happening and, like, takes Maxxine's crutch goes to Otis' back, takes out Otis and beats the hell out of him, does the same to Tozawa. Right when you thought Otis was finally gonna do it, Gable beats them both down and then he starts backing Maxxine into the corner classic heel style. And just when you're like, 'Oh my God! What on earth are they gonna do?' You hear that Kurt Angle music hit," he said. [From 22:58 to 23:45]

Rosenberg acknowledged that Angle is not in a physical condition that would allow him to fight Gable. However, he would fantasy book The Olympic Gold Medalist against The Alpha Academy leader at SummerSlam or WrestleMania. Meanwhile, the former 24/7 Champion stated that a confrontation between the two could end with a slap from Angle to Gable.

"[Are they going to Pittsburgh soon? Because it could happen. The hometown pop.] At least, because even if he [Angle] comes out and slaps him or does, you know, there's still something he could do." [From 24:13 to 24:22]

Would Chad Gable join a recently debuted WWE faction?

Last Monday, the Wyatt Sicks faction debuted on RAW, leaving what looked like a murder scene backstage. One of the group's victims was none other than Chad Gable.

On the Rebooked podcast, former WWE Superstar Matthew Rehwoldt (FKA Aiden English) wondered if Gable could be "reborn" and join The Wyatt Sicks after the faction's vicious attack on him last week:

"Is he reborn as the sixth? Is Bray the sixth and within the lantern, the spirit? You know what I mean? Because there's five of them. Is Chad Gable the sixth? Is he gonna be a part of the group? Is he just been done away with for now?"

Gable has been medically cleared to compete in a Triple-Threat Money in the Bank qualifying match this Monday on RAW. After Otis, Akira Tozawa, and Maxxine Dupri packed their bags and claimed they were "done," it would be interesting to see what is next for The Alpha Academy leader.
