Legendary former world champion bids emotional farewell before reportedly heading to WWE

WWE is currently the hottest it has been since the Attitude Era. The company has once again become a welcome haven for free agents in the pro wrestling world, with many prominent names joining the global juggernaut in the last few months. Another major star looks set to join the company soon, and he seemingly confirmed the same with an emotional farewell at another promotion.

The star in question is Motor City Machine Guns' Alex Shelley. Shelley, along with Chris Sabin, has been a major name in the tag team division. The duo are reportedly headed to WWE, and their signing could soon be made official.

Alex seemingly confirmed the same after his match against Alpha Zo at the 'Untouchable' PPV hosted by West Coast Pro, Deadlock Pro-Wrestling, and Prestige Wrestling. The 41-year-old began his speech by stating that this might be his last time with the company. The former TNA World Champion added that he feels that the future of pro wrestling is in safe hands with West Coast Pro stars.

EC3 is excited about Motor City Machine Guns potentially joining WWE

WWE has been firing on all cylinders under the creative guidance of Triple H. The company looks set to add a major duo to its tag team division, the prospect of which excites many.

EC3 recently stated his thoughts on Motor City Machine Guns, noting that Alex and Chris are great and have plenty of gas left in their tanks.

"Both great dudes. Even though they are slightly older than me, they got started so much earlier it seems, where they were on TV when I was probably still, I wouldn't say I was in the backyard but was probably not a trained professional wrestler at the time. Been watching them from early TNA days. Ya they are great... There is probably plenty of juice or gas left in their tanks."

Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin have been teaming up for nearly two decades. The duo has won multiple tag titles across different promotions. It will be interesting to see how they fare in WWE, having competed across the world.
