Legendary real-life Bloodline member confirms interest in returning to WWE after 1,404 days to face Randy Orton
A real-life member of The Bloodline opened up about a potential return to the ring in WWE after 1,404 days. Rikishi recently confirmed his interest in facing Randy Orton if he ever makes a comeback.
The WWE Hall of Famer has not wrestled since March 1, 2019, but has not officially retired from the ring. His last WWE appearance was at Survivor Series 2020 when he was one of the select superstars to honor The Undertaker.
Speaking on the latest episode of the Off the Top podcast, Rikishi discussed his favorite cage matches in his career. He admitted that nothing could top his spot at the Hell in a Cell match at Armageddon 2000. He also got the itch to talk about a potential return and his interest in getting in the ring with Orton.
"It had to be something like, I don't know … I'd have to be up against Randy Orton, maybe. I keep talking about Randy, but Randy's a GOAT. I think Randy can bring the best out of (me) out there and make me forget my age and stuff. Just get out there to be able to be in the zone, working against an icon as Randy, and just let me do what I do and do what I love, man. That's just to get out there and just back that thing up, bust the move, and shake what your mama gave you," Rikishi said. [From 12:32 - 13:05]
Randy Orton has received a lot of praise from superstars past and present for the work he has done in his career. Orton has carved out a legendary career and continues to be at the top despite turning 44 years old back in April.
WWE legend picks match with Randy Orton as his favorite
In a recent video for the WWE Vault YouTube channel, Mick Foley reviewed some of his Cactus Jack character's most hardcore moments. Foley admitted that his favorite match of all time was as Cactus Jack, and it was against Randy Orton at Backlash 2004.
"I was a big believer in the potential of Randy Orton, and I thought I've got this amazing young athlete, ears and eyes wide open, and we're in a situation where he can help me have the type of match I need to have to feel complete, and I can help him take that next step up the ladder. Given his age and experience, it was a performance for the ages. I think to this day, he says, it's his favorite match. (It's) my favorite match of all time," Foley said. [H/T: Fightful]
Mick Foley put over Randy Orton back then, solidifying the then-young star's potential and the real start of his Legend Killer gimmick.
