Liv Morgan reacts to retaining Women's World Championship at Bad Blood despite confusing finish
Liv Morgan has the right to still call herself the Women's World Champion after what transpired at Bad Blood over the weekend. Morgan managed to retain the title against Rhea Ripley and took to her social media handle to address the victory.
Liv Morgan has been the Women's World Champion for over four months now. Since winning the title from Becky Lynch at the King and Queen of the Ring Premium Live Event in May, she has beaten stars such as Zelina Vega and Rhea Ripley to defend her title.
In her most recent match, the Women's World Champion retained her title in a match against Rhea Ripley while Dominik Mysterio was locked up in a shark cage. The face off at Bad Blood saw Raquel Rodriguez return and help her former tag team partner fight off Ripley. Amidst the confusion, Liv Morgan was disqualified but walked out with the title due to the champion's advantage rule in WWE. Now, the Judgment Day member has sent out a message to the WWE Universe through her X account.
"Woke up this morning STILL the greatest Women’s World Champion of all time. Cry about it."
Liv Morgan's major mistake after Bad Blood
At Bad Blood, Dominik Mysterio was locked in a shark cage to ensure that he didn't cause any distractions in the Women's World Championship match. However, the former NXT North American Champion was able to pick the lock and open the cage door.
Once the door was open, Mysterio tried his best to help his on-screen girlfriend from afar and in the confusion, fell off the cage. His foot was still cuffed to cage, leaving him hanging like a human pinata. Mami couldn't control the urge to punish Dirty Dom and lashed out at him with a kendo stick.
While Ripley was busy with her sights set on Dominik, Raquel Rodriguez made an appearance and attacked Ripley from behind. However, the referee saw the altercation and immediately disqualified Morgan. At the post-show press conference, Morgan stated that she had won the match and later corrected herself stating that she had retained the title.
