Logan Paul is close to breaking another huge record in WWE
The Road to WWE's Biggest Party of the Summer is continuing with tonight's live SmackDown. Logan Paul is hoping to extend his SummerSlam winning streak with a successful title defense, and now we know the social media star is preparing to shatter more WWE records.
The Maverick debuted with WWE over 1200 days ago and signed his contract 750 days ago. He dethroned Rey Mysterio of the United States Championship on November 3 and has had just two title defenses since then - a Royal Rumble DQ win over Kevin Owens, a Triple Threat win over KO and Randy Orton at WrestleMania XL.
According to WWE Stats, the Ultimate Influencer has three new championship accolades. As of tonight's SmackDown, Paul has the longest United States Championship reign of the last ten years, at 259 days. Austin Theory held the previous record for his 257-day reign, which began at Survivor Series 2022.
The next three longest U.S. Championship runs from the past 10 years are as follows: Damian Priest's 191-day reign from August 2021, Sheamus' 182-day reign from May 2014, and Bobby Lashley's 175-day reign that began in August 2020. It should be noted that Dean Ambrose's 350-day reign from May 2013 just missed the cut-off.
Paul also had the third-longest US Championship reign of the post-WCW era, which started with Chris Kanyon's 45-day reign in July 2001. The two post-WCW reigns ahead of Paul's current run are the aforementioned Ambrose run and MVP's 342-day reign from May 2007.
Paul has unlocked another achievement for the new era, his third from this week. Out of all current champions in WWE, the 29-year-old is the only superstar with a title reign that began before 2024.
Oba Femi just missed the mark as he became a champion in January, while Cody Rhodes, Damian Priest, Sami Zayn, Bayley, Roxanne Perez, Axiom and Nathan Frazer won their respective titles over WrestleMania Weekend. May champions were Liv Morgan and Tony D'Angelo, while June saw The Judgment Day, The Unholy Union, Andrade, and Kelani Jordan win gold. DIY and Ethan Page became champions this month.
LA Knight is scheduled to be Paul's next challenger to the United States Championship. Their first-ever match will take place at SummerSlam on August 3 in Cleveland, OH.
