Logan Paul hoping for major announcement following Donald Trump project and WWE photo-op
WWE is on the receiving end of significant mainstream attention tonight after Logan Paul made a massive announcement with Donald Trump. The celebrity duo went viral with their WWE United States Championship photo-op, but now it's been revealed that Paul is hoping to make another major announcement soon.
The Maverick announced today that he has interviewed the 45th President of the United States, and that the feature will air on Friday's IMPAULSIVE episode. Trump is also a member of the Celebrity Wing of the WWE Hall of Fame. The viral photo of the billionaire and the YouTuber holding the United States Championship belt has racked up thousands of likes on Paul's X and Instagram accounts, with close to 3 million views and 5,000 re-posts on the platform formerly known as Twitter. Their playful face-off with the title belt in the background has close to 3.5 million views on Trump's TikTok account.
Paul is now trying to land another major guest, according to TMZ Sports. The SmackDown Superstar has reached out to The White House as he hopes to interview President Joe Biden as well.
The report stated that the 29-year-old wants to give his IMPAULSIVE audience the full context of the 2024 U.S. Presidential race. There's no word yet on if Biden will agree to the interview, but there was no confirmation as of around 4pm ET today.
The Ultimate Influencer traveled to Trump's Mar-a-Lago in Florida to film with Trump on Tuesday. The interview was done after Trump's team reportedly reached out to request the meet-up, and Paul agreed to the gig.
Donald Trump's WWE Hall of Fame career
Donald Trump is no stranger to the world of pro wrestling, and allegedly still keeps in touch with Vince McMahon. The 45th President of the United States helped promote WrestleMania 4 and 5, and had ringside seats for WrestleMania 20 in New York City. He was interviewed by another unconventional politician and Hall of Famer - Jesse Ventura.
Trump returned to World Wrestling Entertainment in 2007 for The Battle of the Billionaires with Mr. McMahon. A Hair vs. Hair match was held at WrestleMania 23, with Bobby Lashley representing Trump in a win over Umaga, who represented McMahon. After the 13-minute match, Lashley and Trump shaved Vince's head bald, but special referee Steve Austin then hit a Stunner on the real estate tycoon.
Trump, who also has support from a top WWE legend, participated in a 2009 RAW storyline where he bought RAW from McMahon, and then sold it back to him. WWE invited the President back in 2013 so that Vince could induct him into the Celebrity Wing of the Hall of Fame.
Trump also worked with Linda McMahon in the world of politics. The WWE co-founder left in 2009 to begin her political career, and in 2016, then-President-Elect Trump nominated Linda as his Administrator of the Small Business Administration. She held the job for two years, then stepped down for a new role in Trump's re-election campaign. A pro-Trump Super PAC, America First Action, named McMahon as its Chairwoman in April 2019.
