Ludwig Kaiser makes major WWE announcement
Imperium's Ludwig Kaiser recently made an announcement on behalf of WWE. Kaiser and the rest of the WWE roster will be returning to Europe next year before WrestleMania 41.
The 34-year-old star is currently in pursuit of Bron Breakker's Intercontinental Championship. He will challenge for the title next week on RAW. He also played mind games this past Monday by slapping Breakker backstage during an interview with Cathy Kelley.
Kaiser has a chance to win the Intercontinental Championship and possibly bring it back to his native Germany next year. He announced on WWE Deutschland's Instagram page in his native language that the Road to WrestleMania is coming to Germany and Austria in March.
WWE will hold two live events in Germany on March 15 in Dortmund and March 16 in Hannover. There's also a live event scheduled in Vienna, Austria on March 29.
It's part of WWE's two-week 2025 European tour that also includes Spain, Belgium, Italy, Northern Ireland, England, Scotland and the Netherlands.
Ludwig Kaiser is from Hannover, Germany, so it's a homecoming for him. The same thing can be said for Gunther, who is from Vienna, Austria. They made their names as Axel Dieter Jr. and WALTER, respectively, at Westside Xtreme Wrestling (wX) in Gelsenkirchen, which is just 40 minutes away from Dortmund.
Ludwig Kaiser recently returned to wXw
As mentioned above, Ludwig Kaiser began his career at wXw in Germany. Kaiser was a one-time wXw Unified World Wrestling Champion and a two-time wXw World Tag Team Champion. He performed there from 2009 to 2019 before getting signed by WWE.
Five years after his last appearance for the promotion, Kaiser made a surprise return at wXw Broken Rules event in Hamburg on November 23. He confronted wXw Unified World Wrestling Champion Peter Tihanyi and his manager Bobby Gunns.
Kaiser received an enormous pop from the crowd and had to compose himself following his emotional return. He couldn't help but smile after coming back to his old stomping grounds. He hyped up the crowd and thanked everyone for their support.
It will be interesting to see if more WWE Superstars are given the green light to make appearances in their old promotions. Finn Balor and JD McDonagh even wrestled for Over the Top Wrestling in Ireland last October.
