Major championship match confirmed for WWE Survivor Series

A major world championship match was confirmed for Survivor Series on the latest episode of WWE RAW. Gunther will defend his World Heavyweight Championship at the PLE.

Last week on the red brand, a Fatal Four-Way match was held to determine The Ring General's next challenger for the coveted title. The participants were Damian Priest, Seth “Freakin” Rollins, Sheamus and “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio. The Archer of Infamy pinned his former Judgment Day stablemate to emerge victorious.

Damian Priest was the previous World Heavyweight Champion, and he lost the title at SummerSlam after Finn Balor turned on him. The former dealt with The Prince at Bad Blood and is now trying to reclaim the world title. During this week's episode of RAW, Gunther opened the show and was confronted by the no.1 contender.

During the segment, it was announced that the two stars would face each other at WWE Survivor Series for the World Heavyweight Championship. This was the first title match to be confirmed for the premium live event.

Gunther recently surpassed 100 days as World Heavyweight Champion and has had two title defenses under his belt. It'll be interesting to see whether Damian Priest will dethrone The Ring General to recapture the title.
