Major name's first win on WWE programming in over 90 days was a wrong decision, says Vince Russo (Exclusive)

Former WWE head writer Vince Russo does not feel that Natalya and Co.'s win over the Pure Fusion Collective was the right decision. The 63-year-old veteran explained himself during his appearance on Sportskeeda Wrestling's Legion of RAW podcast.

Sonya Deville, Shayna Baszler, and Zoey Stark, dubbed the Pure Fusion Collective, had been targeting a few female WWE stars over the last few weeks. The trio were slated to face Lyra Valkyria, Zelina Vega, and a mystery person in a six-woman tag team match on RAW this week. The third partner turned out to be Natalya, who made her return to WWE programming after over three months. The Queen of Harts also picked up the victory for her team.

While speaking about the match, Vince Russo noted that losing to Natalya has ruined any credibility the Pure Fusion Collective had:

"What is the name of that group again? Pure Fusion Collective, bro, you know what’s bad? Natalya is in her hometown of Calgary, so they are doing the job...What you’re talking about there is all money and investment. That’s not free. The titantrons, the packages put together, that’s not free, that is an investment. So, you’re gonna invest all this money and at the end of the investment, it’s going to be 50-50." [58:41 - 1:00:22]

Natalya was last seen in action in June 2024 when she defeated Izzi Dame on NXT. The 42-year-old veteran has been mainly used to put over younger stars in the last few years.
