Major prediction for Cody Rhodes and Gunther's Crown Jewel match shared by former WWE writer

The battle for the inaugural Crown Jewel Championship is bound to be keenly contested between Cody Rhodes and Gunther. While the match should be a potential classic, Freddie Prinze Jr. felt the American Nightmare had the edge over the Ring General.

Triple H introduced the Crown Jewel title at Bad Blood and announced the world champions from either brand would contest for the belt which is not expected to be featured around the year.

Cody Rhodes and Gunther have exchanged words and punches ahead of their match and the special champion vs. champion feud has gotten a bit personal despite the lack of time for its build.

While sharing his predictions for Crown Jewel, Freddie Prinze Jr. said as The Bloodline is involved in a separate match and won't be able to influence the title match, Cody Rhodes should defeat Gunther.

The former WWE writer explained:

"I don't think there is going to be a position for The Bloodline business to interfere in the match and f with Cody because they are already preoccupied and doing their own thing. So I think this is a straight match. And as the quarterback of the company, as Gunther calls him, I don't see a scenario where Cody Rhodes could lose and neither does our producer because we both picked Cody Rhodes." Freddie Prinze Jr. on Kevin Owens and Randy Orton's WWE Crown Jewel match

As Cody Rhodes dreams of becoming the Crown Jewel Champion, his friends, Kevin Owens and Randy Orton will fight in a potentially explosive match between two world champions.

Freddie Prinze Jr. didn't see why Randy Orton needed the win and felt that to justify Kevin Owens' recent actions, the Prizefighter needed to win.

Owens has been annoyed with his close associates of late and attacked both Orton and Rhodes. However, at Crown Jewel, Prinze Jr. foresaw KO to get the three-count over The Viper and continue leaning into his villainous side:

"Randy Orton vs Kevin Owens. This is an easy one. I feel like if Kevin lost the match, what the hell was the beef for in the first place? Randy has been the champ 437 times, I don't think he is there to be a 500-time champion. He can take a loss. I think Kevin Owens takes the win." [From 14:34 onwards]

The outcome of KO vs. Orton could have major implications on the ongoing SmackDown storyline, which also prominently involves Cody Rhodes.
