Major star calls out John Cena following Money in the Bank; teases WWE return
A major star has teased returning to WWE to have a match against John Cena. The veteran made a huge announcement during the Money in the Bank Premium Live Event last night in Toronto, Canada.
John Cena made a surprise appearance during the premium live event last night and announced that he would be retiring next year. Following Cena's announcement, Matt Cardona (formerly known as Zack Ryder) took to Instagram to call out the 47-year-old. The two stars have had their issues in the past and Cardona wanted a match against Cena as seen in his post below.
Cena also noted that WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas will be the final Show of Shows of his wrestling career, and also added that he will retire his jean shorts when he is done with in-ring competition.
John Cena on whether he will turn heel ahead of WWE retirement
WWE veteran John Cena was asked if he would ever consider a heel turn ahead of his retirement.
Speaking at the press conference following Money in the Bank, Cena commented on whether he would turn heel before retiring from the ring. He stated that fans would be able to see through it because it goes against his established values.
"So I think, by now, I have to, you know, what? 22 years? I know you'll see me but you won't see me [everyone laughs]. You will get my authentic self and moments of frustration and moments of disappointment. Heck, I can't remember the last time I won a match, you know, I'm in a little bit of a slump. So I guess I don't think in those terms. What I do know is I really try to work hard every day to be as good a human being as I can. So I don't know how much impact that would have because it goes heavily against what I value. I think you would see through it," he said. [15:59 - 16:43]
