Major title rematch announced for WWE SmackDown
The Road to WWE SummerSlam will continue tonight as SmackDown airs live from Worcester, Massachusetts. In addition to the Money In the Bank fallout, officials have just booked a major rematch with titles on the line.
#DIY captured the WWE Tag Team Championship on the final SmackDown before Money In the Bank. Last Friday's main event saw Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano defeat Grayson Waller and Austin Theory in a 14-minute contest. A-Town Down Under had been champions since Night 1 of WrestleMania 40.
Waller and Theory will not have to wait long for their title shot as WWE has announced the bout for tonight's SmackDown. This is being billed as a major rematch in the official SmackDown preview.
"Will Gargano and Ciampa solidify their place at the top of SmackDown’s tag team division, or will Theory and Waller prove that last week was just a fluke?," reads the official match preview.
Tonight's SmackDown will mark the second-ever televised match between #DIY and A-Town Down Under. Before last week's title change, Waller and Theory defeated Gargano and Ciampa at two non-televised live events in mid-May.
