Major update on Hall of Famer potentially returning to WWE
WWE Universe has kicked the week off with buzz surrounding a Hall of Famer known for one of the most controversial moments in wrestling history. New details are being revealed on a potential status update for the veteran.
Madusa joined World Wrestling Entertainment in 1993, shortly after leaving WCW as a member of The Dangerous Alliance with Paul Heyman. Re-branded as Alundra Blayze, she was in her third reign as WWE Women's Champion when she returned to World Championship Wrestling and infamously tossed the title belt into a trash can live on Monday Nitro. The Minneapolis native became the first woman to hold the WCW Cruiserweight Championship but left ahead of McMahon's historic purchase in 2001, opting to retire and focus on her successful monster truck career.
The 1988 Pro Wrestling Illustrated Rookie of the Year patched things up with her former employer and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2015. Since then, she has appeared for the company, even competing in the Evolution Battle Royal in 2018. She also briefly held the 24/7 Championship on RAW in 2019.
The 61-year-old took to X today to reveal that she was brought into the Performance Center to get scanned, fueling the rumor mill about a potential return.
"Nothing like being scanned with natural beauty wrinkles [flushed face emoji] [tears of joy emoji]," Alundra Blayze wrote with the photo below.
Blayze did not elaborate on why she was being scanned in Orlando. Despite the return speculation, it seems likely that she will be featured in the WWE 2K25 video game, but that has not been confirmed.
The former WCW Power Plant trainer has not appeared in a video game since WWE 2K19. She also appeared in WCW Nitro, WCW Backstage Assault, 2K16, 2K17, and 2K18.
The Pat McAfee Show pack set for WWE video game
The next DLC release for WWE 2K24 will be unveiled this week. The Pat McAfee Show Pack was initially scheduled to be released on July 24, but the date was changed to Wednesday, July 31.
The third DLC pack will feature a usable football, plus playable versions of McAfee and his co-hosts - AJ Hawk, Ty Schmit, Boston Connor, and Darius Butler.
2K will release the fourth and final DLC pack on Friday, September 21. The Global Superstars Pack will feature Carlito, Dragon Lee, Kairi Sane, Nia Jax, Lyra Valkyria, Michelle McCool, and Jade Cargill.
