Major update on Survivor Series 2024; WWE yet to make official announcement - Report

WWE has yet to make an official announcement regarding this year's Survivor Series. However, a recent report shed some light on the potential location of the premium live event.

The past two Survivor Series events featured WarGames with The Bloodline standing tall in 2022 and Team Cody beating Judgment Day in 2023. Last year's event also featured the shocking return of CM Punk.

According to WrestleVotes on X, formerly known as Twitter, WWE is reportedly looking to bring this year's Survivor Series to Los Angeles, California. While the usual destination for events in the area is the Crypto.com Arena, fka Staples Center, it seems like the company wants to test the newly-built Intuit Dome.

The Intuit Dome is a new arena in Inglewood, California, and will be the new home of the LA Clippers in the NBA. It is owned by billionaire and former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer. The venue is set to open on August 15 with Bruno Mars performing in a concert.

It has a capacity of 18,000 for basketball games, so there could be more seats available for a wrestling event. The location is also not far from Los Angeles since it's just beside the SoFi Stadium where WrestleMania 39 was held.

While the Intuit Arena is seemingly booked with concerts for the rest of the year, WWE reportedly plans to hold the Survivor Series PLE there on November 30. The closest concert from that date is Cyndi Lauper's 2024 Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Farewell Tour on November 23.

What will be the format for this year's WWE Survivor Series?

There have been several formats for Survivor Series over the years, but it was mainly the traditional Five-on-Five Elimination Matches that made the event famous. However, WWE changed the format and added some flair and creativity to it.

The company began to promote the event as a battle for brand supremacy in the 2010s and it followed that format until 2021. The WarGames concept was introduced in the past two years and is quite possibly a success, especially with CM Punk's return last year.

Survivor Series is often considered one of the "Big Four" Premium Live Events along with the Royal Rumble, WrestleMania, and SummerSlam.
