Major WWE championship match confirmed; CM Punk involved

CM Punk will play a key role in an upcoming title match on NXT. This match was just made official during a WWE show tonight.

Ever since Ethan Page first arrived in NXT, he has been feuding with Trick Williams for the NXT Championship. Ever after Page won the title from Williams, this feud has continued.

On October 1, both men were set to compete in a title match. Tonight on NXT, the contract signing was planned to kick off the show. However, things went south soon, as Page put Trick through a table and left the ring without signing the contract.

As a result, NXT GM Ava gave the contract to Indiana Pacers' Tyrese Haliburton and asked him to make sure both Trick and Page signed it. Later on in the show, Tyrese was in the ring and he asked the participants to come out. Trick Williams came out and signed the contract. He also called out Ethan Page.

Page came to the ring but was not happy. He pointed out that this was ridiculous and he gave Williams an out earlier in the night. He then said that after he beats Trick in Chicago, the Era of Ego will continue to make history. He then signed the contract but the night was not over.

CM Punk came out and announced that he would be the special guest referee for the match. CM Punk then told both men that they could start fighting if they wanted to. No further invitation was needed and the two stars brawled until the security personnel came out to stop them.

It will be interesting to see if Trick Williams will be able to regain his NXT Championship in Chicago.
