Major WWE heel teases babyface turn after over 2 years by helping Jey Uso at recent show
WWE has had a busy weekend, hosting a couple of live events in Mexico. Both shows were successful, with many big names on the card. One of the main events featured the World Heavyweight Champion, Damian Priest.
The Archer of Infamy defended his title against Jey Uso, as he has done multiple times in non-televised matches recently. Priest defeated The YEET Master yet again at the WWE Live Event in Monterrey. However, something interesting happened after the match.
As Damian Priest was leaving the ring, he changed his mind and returned to help a fallen Jey Uso back to his feet, showing respect to his challenger. The World Heavyweight Champion even did the 'Yeet' arm movement, to further acknowledge Uso.
WWE's official Instagram handle posted a clip of the moment:
This is an interesting development, which is in line with Priest's current character on Monday Night RAW. He recently showed respect to Seth Rollins following their match at Money in the Bank and is willing to defend his World Heavyweight Title against The Visionary again.
Damian Priest could turn babyface ahead of WWE SummerSlam
All signs point towards Priest turning babyface in time for SummerSlam, where he will defend the World Heavyweight Championship against Gunther. His moment with Jey Uso at the WWE Live Event may have been designed to speed up the process.
Damian Priest's world title reign may end at the hands of The Ring General, right after he turns babyface. Regardless, this would ensure fans are on his side as The Judgment Day gets torn apart, with Finn Balor leading the betrayal against the de facto leader in Rhea Ripley's absence.
It seems like she and Priest will stick together, as the remaining Judgment Day members join Liv Morgan in her version of the dominant heel stable on Monday Night RAW. Yes, even Dominik Mysterio.
