Major WWE name finally breaks silence on the "traumatizing" spot at Bad Blood

WWE Bad Blood was arguably one of the best premium live events in recent memory. Apart from the highly anticipated match between CM Punk and Drew McIntyre, the event also saw a dangerous spot involving Dominik Mysterio.

At Bad Blood, Liv Morgan put her WWE Women's World Championship on the line against Rhea Ripley in a match where Dirty Dom Mysterio was suspended in a shark cage above the ramp.

During the contest, the former WWE NXT North American Champion attempted to escape the cage but tripped, leaving him hanging upside down like a piƱata. Mami seized the opportunity and brutalized her former on-screen love interest, Dominik Mysterio, with a kendo stick.

In an interview with Chris Van Vliet of INSIGHT, the second-generation WWE Superstar recalled the terrifying incident where he fell from a shark cage at Bad Blood. The fall, which was unintended and not originally planned, left him traumatized and disoriented.

"Well, it was supposed to keep me just in the cage. Yeah, it wasn't supposed to, I don't know what was supposed to go down, but that was supposed to just keep me in the cage so I didn't leave and, I didn't mess with the match or do anything. But yeah, it was definitely traumatizing. I was up there for a long time."

The Judgment Day member described the experience as surreal and deeply unsettling, with people yelling at him as if he were an animal. Dominik Mysterio added:

"Yeah, it was very surreal too, because I remember I would try to get up and just the movement of the cage, everything was just freaking crazy. Everyone was yelling things at me too, like I'm some caged animal. People are rude." [H/T: CVV]

Dominik Mysterio opens up about being CM Punk's first opponent upon his WWE return

CM Punk returned to the Stamford-based promotion in November 2023 at Survivor Series. Before appearing at this year's Royal Rumble, The Voice of The Voiceless secured big wins over the Latino Cheat in singles matches at two non-televised house shows.

During the same chat with Chris Van Vliet of INSIGHT, Dominik Mysterio shared that he did not expect WWE to give him the chance to collide with CM Punk. The 27-year-old star claimed that he was glad to be the one to deliver the first punch to The Second City Saint after his return:

"Yeah, kind of crazy. I didn't expect it to be me, just because we have so much great talent right now, especially the roster we have today, Raw and SmackDown. But the fact that they trusted me to go in there with him on his first match back, like you said, after what, 10 years, I'm glad I was able to give him his first punch," Mysterio said.

This week on Monday Night RAW, Dominik Mysterio made a shocking claim that he can defeat the reigning WWE World Heavyweight Champion Gunther. On social media, The Ring General broke his silence on the matter. It remains to be seen whether WWE will put Dirty Dom in the World Heavyweight Championship picture to challenge Gunther for the title.
