Major WWE roster move made official at SummerSlam; popular star debuts
It was revealed last month that WWE had hired a new broadcaster who would be joining the company later in the year, but his addition to the roster was made official at SummerSlam earlier tonight.
As part of the Countdown to SummerSlam show earlier tonight, Michael Cole announced that he would be making the move over to SmackDown to leave the gap on RAW open to Joe Tessitore who makes his debut on September 2nd.
Tessitore has a wealth of experience from ESPN and is expected to slot into the vacant position easily on RAW.
Tessitore made his WWE debut at SummerSlam, appearing for the first time as part of a show ahead of The Biggest Party of the Summer.
Of course, this move could mean that Cole will miss out on the company's move over to Netflix which is set to take place in January 2025. Cole has legendary status in WWE and has clearly been sent over to SmackDown to steady the ship, but this leaves Corey Graves and Wade Barrett's future up in the air.
Will Michael Cole be added to the duo to make a three-man team or will he take the place of Corey Graves who has been on play-by-play over the past few months after the decision was made to leave Barrett and Graves on the blue brand?
