Major WWE star bounces back following RAW loss by progressing in title tournament
Monday's WWE RAW was another action-packed night of highs and lows for the red brand. Superstars are currently competing in multiple championship tournaments as we head into the new year. One fan-favorite suffered a devastating defeat but just bounced right back with a significant victory.
Katana Chance has been eliminated from the tournament to crown the inaugural WWE Women's Intercontinental Champion, along with Shayna Baszler. Monday's RAW saw the tournament kick off with Dakota Kai winning a Triple Threat to advance to the semi-finals, where she will face the winner of Zoey Stark vs. Raquel Rodriguez vs. Kayden Carter.
Mighty Katana is still focused on winning championship gold as she is still in the running for the next shot at the Speed Women's Championship, currently held by Candice LeRae. Today's new episode of Speed on X saw Chance defeat Alba Fyre. The match ended via pinfall with 35 seconds left on the three-minute clock.
Chance will now face the winner of Michin vs. Ivy Nile to determine one of the spots in the semi-finals. Chance, Michin, or Nile will face either Natalya or Zelina Vega in the semi-finals to determine the next #1 contender to LeRae.
Upcoming WWE Speed matches revealed
The second tournament for the WWE Speed women's division began weeks back, with Zelina Vega defeating Chelsea Green and then Natalya defeating B-Fab. Katana Chance has now defeated Alba Fyre, and the opening round will wrap next Wednesday with Michin vs. Ivy Nile.
The quarter-finals will begin in two weeks with Natalya vs. Zelina Vega, then Chance will face Michin or Nile. The Speed semi-finals are set to take place in early January with Vega or Natalya vs. Chance, Michin, or Nile. The winner will then challenge Candice LeRae for the Speed Women's Championship next month.
LeRae became the inaugural Speed Women's Champion in early October after winning an eight-woman tournament. She defeated IYO SKY in the finals for the title.
