Major WWE star claims Big E abandoned The New Day
A major WWE Superstar has claimed that Big E abandoned The New Day on social media today. The popular faction celebrated its 10th anniversary on the December 2 edition of Monday Night RAW.
Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston had been teasing a split for weeks ahead of the celebration. Big E interrupted and offered to be their manager, as he was still recovering from the broken neck he suffered in 2022. The New Day refused his offer and turned their backs on the former WWE Champion.
Kingston and Woods were loudly booed by fans last Monday night on the red brand following their heel turn earlier this month. Xavier Woods took to social media today to claim that Big E abandoned their faction and not the other way around.
"That was a great night! It was always fun having E around. Unfortunately he made the choice to abandon us," he wrote.
Big E has not competed in a match since the March 11, 2022, episode of SmackDown. The veteran has been working as an analyst for the company during his time away from the ring.
Bill Apter reacts to fans booing The New Day on WWE RAW
Legendary wrestling journalist Bill Apter recently commented on the WWE Universe loudly booing Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods on RAW last week.
Speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling's UnSKripted, Apter said that he was happy to see the faction invigorated. The veteran added that the group received a similar reaction to Dominik Mysterio and got booed out of the building last Monday night on the red brand.
"I am so happy that the New Day is showing signs of new... they're invigorated. This new part of the New Day, I didn't know how they were gonna... I didn't know how they were gonna follow up in this whole thing with them backstage at Monday Night RAW trying to 'Hey guys, how're you doing?' And everybody shutting them and all that. Then they get in the ring, and they got the Dominik Mysterio treatment. They are being booed out of the place. They are just walking out of the ring. I love what's going on with them right now," Apter said. [3:38 onwards]
