Major WWE star explains why R-Truth never became a full-fledged member of The Judgment Day
World Tag Team Champion R-Truth got a new purpose in WWE after the star returned to the promotion following an injury as he wanted to join The Judgment Day. A major star recently spoke about Truth and revealed why he never became a member of the villainous stable.
Last year, Truth began his journey on Monday Night RAW to join the heinous stable. Apart from Damian Priest, The Judgment Day was not interested in entertaining R-Truth and didn't want him to become a member. Eventually, Priest also went against the idea, and the veteran didn't join the group.
During an appearance on The Rob Brown Show, World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest spoke about R-Truth. The Archer of Infamy explained why the faction didn't want to add the star and felt like the group was losing their touch.
"Alright, look, he was a full-fledged member of wearing a t-shirt. He was not a member of The Judgment Day ever. Look, I enjoyed my time having fun with R-Truth. I feel like I showed the world a different side of myself, you know, where they saw me laughing and smiling. When I'm in the ring, I'm usually nowhere near that. But, at some point, we have to get back to The Judgment Day business," said Priest.
He also explained why they had to attack R-Truth.
"Having fun is great, but we also have to lay down the law because we're The Judgment Day. I felt like we got away from that a little bit, and we're too nice. To get back to that, we had to kind of put the beating on R-Truth just to remind ourselves who we are," said Priest. (From 2:41:00 to 2:41:52)
R-Truth and The Miz defeated The Judgment Day at WrestleMania XL to split the Undisputed WWE Championships
After getting rejected by The Judgment Day, R-Truth reunited with The Miz and reformed Awesome Truth on WWE RAW. The two eventually qualified for a six-pack Ladder match at WrestleMania XL.
During the two-night event, The Judgment Day put the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship on the line. In the early moments of the match, A-Town Down Under (Austin Theory & Grayson Waller) won the SmackDown Tag Team Championship.
Later, Truth and Miz fought off the villainous stable and captured the RAW Tag Team Championship, marking the end of The Judgment Day as the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions in the promotion.
