Major WWE star names Roxanne Perez as dream opponent for WrestleMania
Roxanne Perez is one of the fastest-rising WWE stars on NXT, and many notable names want a match with The Prodigy. Recently, Bayley was asked about a dream WrestleMania opponent, and she named Perez.
Roxanne Perez has been on a roll in 2024 as she has crossed over 240 days as the NXT Women's Champion. She won the title from Lyra Valkyria in April at Stand & Deliver. Later, she reunited with Cora Jade to rule the women's division of the developmental brand.
In an interview on Going Ringside, Bayley was asked about WrestleMania 41 and her dream scenario for the event in Las Vegas. The Role Model said she would want to face an up-and-coming talent from the developmental brand. She also name-dropped the current NXT Women's Champion during the conversation.
"I would like to probably work with someone from NXT if I can. I would have to go with Roxanne [Perez] because she's killing it as the NXT Women's Champion. She's so smooth, and I'm selfish like I know everybody wants to work with her. I'm selfish, and I want to get her first 'Mania match. I think that would be really special, and we're really tight friends. So, I would love that," Bayley said. (From 08:25 onwards)
Roxanne Perez has competed on WWE's main roster
In 2022, Roxanne Perez made her first appearance for the Stamford-based promotion and joined the developmental brand under Shawn Michaels' creative leadership. She quickly became a popular face and won the NXT Women's Breakout Tournament.
She later entered into a feud with Cora Jade and lost a shot at the NXT Women's Championship along with the NXT Women's Tag Team Championship. In October 2022, Perez crossed paths with Bayley in a six-woman tag team match on WWE SmackDown.
Unfortunately for the rising star, she and her team lost to Damage CTRL. Earlier this year, Roxanne Perez returned to WWE's main roster when she appeared on Monday Night RAW as the NXT Women's Champion and defeated Indi Hartwell in a one-on-one match.
Besides her appearances on RAW and SmackDown, the 23-year-old WWE star has made two appearances in the Women's Royal Rumble match. It'll be interesting to see when the rising star receives her official main roster call-up.
