Major WWE stars make surprise appearance to promote WrestleMania

Several major WWE stars made surprise appearances during an NFL game today to promote WrestleMania 41. The Show of Shows will air live from Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on April 19 and April 20 next year.

The Las Vegas Raiders battled the Pittsburgh Steelers today during week six of the NFL season. During the game, WWE shared a post on their X (fka Twitter) account featuring Rey Mysterio, Titus O'Neil, and ring announcer Samantha Irvin.

The trio were in attendance for the Raiders game to promote WrestleMania 41, as tickets for the premium live event are set to go on sale on October 25. Irvin also sang the national anthem of the United States of America at the event.

Titus O'Neil has retired from in-ring competition and has not competed in a match since 2020. The veteran currently serves as a global ambassador for the company. Rey Mysterio teamed up with Andrade to defeat Santos Escobar and Dominik Mysterio at WrestleMania XL.

NFL stars Jason Kelce and Lane Johnson got involved in the match and helped Rey Mysterio and Andrade pick up the victory. Kelce has since retired from the National Football League and is currently serving as an analyst for ESPN on Monday Night Football.

Bill Apter suggests a major match for WWE WrestleMania 41

Wrestling journalist Bill Apter recently pitched an interesting idea for a potential marquee match at WWE WrestleMania 41 next year.

The Rock returned during the final moments of WWE Bad Blood and stared at Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes from the entrance ramp. The Final Boss was supposed to battle The Original Tribal Chief at WrestleMania XL, but those plans changed in favor of Cody Rhodes after the "#WeWantCody" movement gained momentum.

Speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling's The Wrestling Time Machine show, Apter suggested that The Rock and John Cena could potentially square off at WrestleMania 41. Cena appeared at WWE Money in the Bank earlier this year and announced that he would be retiring from the ring in 2025.

"At that point, depending upon how hot everything is, it's gotta be The Rock against Roman Reigns. I think that's the money match [...] Actually, where I am going with this, I don't know if they wanna see Roman or Cody against The Rock. I think they might wanna see [gestures you can't see me] John Cena against The Rock because that's part of his plans for next year. It is to be high-profile at WrestleMania," he said.
