Major WWE Superstar may miss SmackDown; sends message ahead of show
A major WWE Superstar has shared that he is running behind schedule on his way to tonight's episode of SmackDown. This week's show will air live from Madison Square Garden and will feature three Money in the Bank Qualifying matches.
World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest will be defending his title against Seth Rollins at Money in the Bank on July 6. Ahead of tonight's edition of WWE SmackDown, the RAW star took to his Instagram story to send a message to fans. He noted that he has been delayed on his way to the show but claimed that he would still be there. You can check out Priest's Instagram story by clicking here.
"Dealing with delays but I'll be there," he wrote.
The match between Seth Rollins and Damian Priest at Money in the Bank next month will have more on the line than just the World Heavyweight Championship. Rollins can never challenge for the title again as long as Priest is champion if he loses the match. Priest will be forced to leave The Judgment Day if he fails to win the match next month in Toronto.
Jim Cornette comments on Damian Priest's promo on WWE RAW
Wrestling legend Jim Cornette has shared his thoughts on Damian Priest as World Heavyweight Champion and believes the veteran is struggling to connect with the WWE Universe.
Speaking on Jim Cornette's Drive-Thru podcast, the veteran claimed that Priest still had not developed a connection with the crowd. He noted that the company is trying to make The Judgment Day member more credible as a singles star but the 41-year-old does not look comfortable doing his own thing at the moment.
"I hate to say it because they're doing what we wanted them to do, which is make him more credible as a singles guy. Is it he just hasn't got comfortable yet to do his own thing or is this his own thing? I don't know, maybe they're telling him to say many of these things." [From 2:40 - 3:00]

Damian Priest was able to defeat Drew McIntyre at WWE Clash at the Castle earlier this month due to CM Punk's interference in the match. It will be interesting to see if he can overcome The Visionary at WWE Money in the Bank and retain the World Heavyweight Championship.
