Major WWE Superstar’s wife teases return after almost three years
The wife of a major WWE star has teased her return to the Stamford-based company. The 45-year-old wrestler is herself a multi-time champion.
Mickie James, the wife of SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis, was among the top female stars on the roster before her departure in 2010. She returned to wrestling promotion and inked a multi-year deal with the global juggernaut in 2016. Her second stint with the wrestling promotion did not see her win a single title, and she was released in 2021.
Mickie James took to her X (FKA Twitter) account earlier today to tease her return to in-ring action. Responding to a fan hoping to see her compete in a match in either WWE or TNA, the former Divas Champion noted it could happen:
"I think we might could make that happen…🤠," she wrote.

Mickie James' last in-ring appearance for the wrestling promotion was in the 2022 Women's Royal Rumble Match. She entered the contest at No.20 as the Impact Knockouts World Champion. James lasted close to 12 minutes before getting eliminated by Lita.
Former WWE Superstar claims Mickie James needs to be in the Hall of Fame
Mackie James had a successful run with the Stamford-based company, which saw her win multiple titles before her release in 2010. Former WWE Superstar Cherry recently pushed for the five-time Women's Champion to be inducted into the wrestling promotion's Hall of Fame.
In an interview with Wrestling Then And Now, the 49-year-old was asked about her opinion on Mickie James. Cherry claimed the latter needed to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. She further praised James for her in-ring work and being an incredible person outside of it as well:
"Oh, legend, needs to be in the Hall of Fame. Overall, just amazing person, worker. I wrestled her on the indies. You know, I saw her in OVW. She was kind of in a different class going up. I mean, not surprised of her success at all. You know, talented, great person, works hard, work ethic, just gives back to other talent on her own time. Like, you know, incredible incredible person, funny, super funny and goofy and laughs at herself and, you know, great to be around," she said. [0:11 - 0:44]

Mickie James is currently the Creative Director, Head of Female Talent, and Executive Producer of OVW. Although she has wrestled three matches on the independent circuit this year, it will be interesting to see if she will return to compete inside a WWE ring.
