Major WWE Superstar undergoes surgery just hours before Crown Jewel; shares graphic update

WWE Crown Jewel is set to take place in just a few hours in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. However, one star who will not be part of today's show is Angel of Los Garza.

The former NXT Cruiserweight Champion recently updated his Instagram stories to reveal that he was at Rothman Orthopedics in Orlando, Florida, and appears to have undergone surgery on his arm.

Angel didn't give any details. The SmackDown Superstar just shared images from the hospital before showing off his bandaged arm after the procedure.

Angel last wrestled a few weeks ago on SmackDown when he and Berto came up short in a Triple Threat tag team match against A-Town Down Under and the Motor City Machine Guns.

It seems that this could have been a planned procedure, as he isn't part of a storyline on WWE TV. It appears that he and Berto have been written off for a while following their loss.

Legado Del Fantasma appears to be lacking direction on WWE SmackDown

The entire group of Legado Del Fantasma appears to be having some issues at present. Angel and Berto are no longer in the tag team picture, while Santos Escobar isn't in the Triple Threat United States Championship match, which will take place at Crown Jewel later today.

It seems that the whole group is struggling for direction at present and could be set for a few weeks off-screen to end the year. It's hoped that they will be picked back up again in time for the Royal Rumble and will be a part of the Road to WrestleMania 41.

With Angel currently on the sidelines, it's unclear how long he will be out of action and if Legado Del Fantasma will feature in his absence.
