Major WWE Superstar will turn heel and betray Cody Rhodes, says analyst
WWE SmackDown currently has several top babyfaces. A WWE Analyst now thinks one of these superstars will soon turn heel and go after Cody Rhodes.
The Superstar in question is none other than Kevin Owens. The Prizefighter has helped The American Nightmare in his feud with Solo Sikoa's Bloodline. Last Friday on SmackDown, the Undisputed WWE Champion told Owens that he would like to defend his title against him at Bash in Berlin. Although the former Universal Champion initially turned down the opportunity, claiming he did not deserve it, he reluctantly accepted after discussing the subject with SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis.
Speaking on his Notsam Wrestling podcast, WWE Analyst Sam Roberts predicted that Owens would turn heel after losing to Rhodes in the German capital and go after his former ally. He claimed the blue brand needs more villains with The American Nightmare and Roman Reigns being the top babyfaces on the roster:
"If I had to make a bold prediction as to where I see this going, I see Kevin Owens getting downright despicable. Because to be a true threat to Cody Rhodes' championship, Kevin Owens has to get downright despicable. I think, if it were me, I would say make this the moment that the Cody Rhodes character learns that he's been naive as a champion, that he's been sitting there trusting everybody, and start creating the scenario where Cody Rhodes realizes this is way tougher than he thought it would be and it is lonely on top," he said. WWE Hall of Famer thinks Kevin Owens won't turn heel
On the Busted Open podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry also discussed the future of Kevin Owens' character. The wrestling legend predicted that The Prizefighter would remain a babyface, unlike many believe.
The World's Strongest Man disclosed that he thinks Owens' match against Cody Rhodes would be a "straightforward" one. Meanwhile, he claimed the company needs the 40-year-old as a babyface, not a heel:
"Yeah, it's gonna be a straightforward [match]. Kevin is at a place right now where they need another babyface. They don't need more heels," he said.
Kevin Owens has turned on his allies many times in the past. It would be interesting to see if the former Universal Champion would do the same to Cody Rhodes.
