Mark Henry believes 18-year-old talent is already better than a lot of WWE stars: "He sees his father's example"
Mark Henry has put over an 18-year-old talented prospect who may already be better than some current WWE Superstars. Jacob Henry, the son of the WWE Hall of Famer, wants to follow in his father's footsteps and become a professional wrestler.
In a recent appearance on the Recap Rewind Relive podcast, The World's Strongest Man described how his son, Jacob, was already better than some talents in NXT. Henry also explained why the 18-year-old prodigy would be more successful than him if he wanted to be a WWE Superstar.
"I can tell you right now, I would put his wrestling acumen up there with everybody at the top at NXT. His understanding and knowledge of the force if you will, for lack of a better term, is on a scale of one to 100, Jacob is probably about 85 in his understanding and knowledge. And that's 18 to turning 19-year-old kid, so when he gets 21, 23 somewhere in there whenever he decides to become a professional wrestler, he's going to be elite."
The former World Heavyweight Champion further spoke about Jacob's potential future in pro wrestling:
"He's already physically there. He's more than mentally there. He just have [sic] to put the work in and practice the actual business of pro wrestling. He realizes what it is to be a professional already because he sees his father's example. He won't make the mistakes that I made. He'll be better than me," Mark Henry added. [32:40 - 33:52]
Jacob Henry was a standout wrestler and football player from Texas. He recently signed his NIL deal to wrestle for the University of Oklahoma in the heavyweight division. He won over 100 matches during his high school career and was a Top 100 football recruit in The Lone Star State.
Mark Henry knows the pressure he has put on his son
Mark Henry initially didn't want his son to pursue professional wrestling when he was growing up. The WWE Hall of Famer later acknowledged that he would allow Jacob to do whatever he wanted and be there to guide him. Henry just warned him about the shadow of having a father like him.
"I never wanted him to wrestle because I knew how hard it was and he didn't told [sic] me at an early age that he didn't want to live in my shadow. I told Jacob, 'I'm like the Pikes Peak or the Himalayan Mountains. I cast a pretty da*n big shadow with the things that I [have] done. You just got to get used to make shining the light in that shadow,' and he's done exactly that." [30:31 - 31:07 in the video above]
Mark Henry is not just an accomplished WWE Superstar. He is a former Olympian, a renowned powerlifter, and a strongman legend.
