Mark Henry expresses disappointment after being omitted from recent WWE show
Wrestling legend Mark Henry was disappointed that he and several other stars were not showcased properly in WWE and A&E's ECW Birth of Hardcore documentary. The show is a part of the ongoing series Biography: WWE Legends.
The World's Strongest Man won the ECW Championship in 2008 after Extreme Championship Wrestling was revived as WWE's third brand in 2006. Former world champions Sheamus and CM Punk are two of the biggest names who made their debut on the show.
Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Mark Henry stated that his ECW run was important to him because that was when he started getting a taste of the main event scene in WWE. He was disappointed that he and other top stars who were a part of ECW were not showcased during the documentary.
"It was important because that's when I really started working the main event at that point," Henry recalled... "Right before that and during that, you know, me and Kane, me and Show, me and Taker, me and Benoit – like, the list goes on." (H/T Wrestling INC.)
Mark Henry wishes he wrestled WWE Legend Andre the Giant
Andre the Giant was a larger-than-life superstar, and he's widely regarded as one of the greatest wrestlers of all time. WWE honors him annually during WrestleMania season with a battle royal named after him.
During a recent interview with Sportskeeda Wrestling Senior Editor Bill Apter, Mark Henry named Andre the Giant as someone he wishes he could've shared the ring with.
"I mean, since it's hypothetical, I would say Andre the Giant," Henry said when asked to name a dream opponent. "The thought of walking to the ring and seeing Andre in the ring or being in the ring and seeing Andre come to the ring, that excites me. It makes me go, 'This is about to be a war.'"
Mark Henry vs. Andre the Giant would've undoubtedly been an interesting match if it took place.
