Mark Henry, who helped Samantha Irvin get into WWE, comments on her shocking exit
WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry has responded to Samantha Irvin's shocking departure. Irvin announced her WWE exit mere hours before last night's edition of RAW, leaving fans dumbfounded.
Irvin's announcement was met with disbelief from a lot of fans on X (Twitter). Many believed that she would be heading to All Elite Wrestling to join Ricochet, but that's not the case. Ricochet made it clear publicly that Irvin isn't coming to AEW following her WWE exit.
Shortly after Samantha Irvin announced her WWE departure, Mark Henry took to his X account to send her a message. For those unaware, Henry helped Irvin make her way to WWE in April 2021. Here's what he wrote:
"Good run!"
Real reason behind Samantha Irvin's WWE exit seemingly revealed
As per Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio, Irvin and WWE couldn't come to terms with the 35-year-old wanting to pursue outside projects. Here's what he stated:
“She’s been thinking about it [the WWE exit] for about a year. She wants to be a singer; she is a singer; she also plays the flute. She wants to get more involved with her music; it’s something she’s been talking about for a long, long time, and finally pulled the trigger on it. It’s not like a plan to go to AEW; not saying 100% that she won’t go. Ricochet actually tweeted that she’s not going, and that wasn’t her intention to go there." [H/T: WrestleTalk]
Irvin's fiance, Ricochet, left WWE in June 2024. He then made his way to Tony Khan's All Elite Wrestling and is now a mainstay in the promotion. Judging by Ricochet's post on X and Meltzer's report, it seems like fans will soon get to see Samantha in a non-wrestling capacity. Irvin is an extremely talented singer, and her fans would love nothing but to see her excel in the field of music.
