Mark Henry suggests major punishment as deterrent for recently abused WWE rule
WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry recently suggested a major fine for stars using a dangerous wrestling move. Randy Orton was sent to the hospital (in storyline) this past Friday night on WWE SmackDown after being struck with the banned maneuver.
The Piledriver had been banned by WWE for years, but the move made its triumphant return this past Friday night on SmackDown. Kevin Owens planted Randy Orton with a Piledriver during a brawl on SmackDown, and The Viper left the arena in an ambulance.
Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Henry shared that he would have stars be fined $50,000 in storyline to prevent the move from being overused. Henry noted that stars would then have to decide if hitting the Piledriver on their rival would be worth the hefty fine.
"I don't want to see the Piledriver become, again, like a DDT or a Superkick. You know what I want to see? I want to see somebody say, 'Hey, I got 50 grand burning a hole in my pocket,'" said Henry. [From 00:42 - 01:00]
