Massive babyface WWE star could turn into a diabolical heel to feud with Roman Reigns, says Matt Camp
Former WWE host Matt Camp recently discussed a potential heel turn for a massive babyface superstar. He claimed the 39-year-old star could become a diabolical power-drunk champion.
Since his return to the Stamford-based company in 2022, Cody Rhodes has established himself as the ultimate babyface. However, several fans and experts have spotted heel characteristics in The American Nightmare's persona. The Undisputed WWE Champion even admitted the same in a recent interview.
On his The Wrestling Matt podcast, Camp disclosed that he believes Rhodes could become the most corporate evil champion ever. He added that a babyface Roman Reigns would then be a great foil for The American Nightmare:
"I think Cody could be a diabolical, power-hungry, power-drunk, champion heel, absolutely. Like, the most corporate evil champion ever. Cody could absolutely nail that role and Roman would be a great foil as a babyface," he said. [From 29:34 to 30:00]
Matt Camp thinks a top WWE star could dethrone Cody Rhodes
On the same episode of his The Wrestling Matt podcast, Matt Camp addressed the possibility of Cody Rhodes squaring off against Kevin Owens at Survivor Series in an Undisputed WWE Championship rematch.
The former RAW Talk host suggested The Prizefighter could dethrone The American Nightmare:
"He [Kevin Owens] is a credible main-eventer and I think it would do wonders for him to beat Cody. Throw that in there. Throw in the idea of Kevin being champion, taking it away from Cody, but also Kevin would be higher up in the world than Roman just based on who's got the title."
Last Friday on SmackDown, Rhodes showed a more aggressive side to his character. It would be interesting to see if he would eventually turn heel.
