Massive update on injured WWE star who was expected to be out for 6-8 months; seen in the ring recently

WWE hosted a house show at the Edion Arena in Osaka, Japan, on July 25, 2024. Former WWE Women's Champion Asuka, who has been out of action due to an injury since May 2024, also appeared during the show in her hometown.

The Empress of Tomorrow was pulled from the 2024 Queen of the Ring Tournament after she suffered a legitimate knee injury. In June, the Damage CTRL member took to social media and announced that she underwent a knee injury. However, she was still using crutches at the time.

Today, at the live event in Osaka, IYO SKY faced current Women's World Champion Liv Morgan in a singles match. However, The Genius of The Sky could not emerge victorious against The Miracle Kid.

Post-match, Asuka came to the ring and provided a massive update, as she was seen walking without the crutches. The 42-year-old star cut a promo in front of her hometown crowd, thanking them for their support, and posed with her Damage CTRL stablemate near the ramp before exiting.

Asuka faced major difficulties with crutches during her WWE absence

The former SmackDown Women's Champion recently revealed her ordeal while using crutches during her rehabilitation program. In a vlog uploaded on her YouTube channel, Kana Chan TV, Asuka revealed she had to relocate to a different rehabilitation center for accelerated recovery.

The RAW star shared that airport staff provided her with a wheelchair when they noticed she was struggling with crutches.

"I've never used crutches before. Difficult to use it. The airport staff got me a wheelchair when they saw how hard it was for me to get around. If I had not used the wheelchair, it would have been difficult to arrive at the airport in time for my flight," she said.

It will be interesting to see if Asuka returns to WWE TV in the coming weeks.
