Massive WWE Superstar could go on hiatus following Bad Blood, says Matt Camp
Two top WWE RAW Superstars will square off inside Hell in a Cell tonight at Bad Blood. Meanwhile, former WWE host Matt Camp has claimed that one of these stars could go on hiatus after the show.
The superstar in question is Drew McIntyre. CM Punk and The Scottish Warrior are seemingly set to end their heated feud tonight when they go head-to-head in a Hell in a Cell Match at Bad Blood.
In the latest episode of his The Wrestling Matt podcast, Camp claimed that the Triple H-led creative team would have to separate the two following their encounter inside The Devil's Playground, moving one to SmackDown while leaving the other on the red brand.
The former RAW Talk host predicted that the loser of the Hell in a Cell Match would go on a short break. Camp said McIntyre could refuse to return to the red brand there if the latter lost tonight. Later, The Scottish Psychopath could strike a deal with SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis and show up on the blue brand, shocking fans.
"I would guess the loser takes a little time. By the way, there's a great little way that you can get somebody, whoever loses that feud, off RAW. Let's say it's Drew. Let's say Drew loses, Punk wins, and a babyface stands tall. You take Drew off TV a little bit and then he shows up on SmackDown. 'Ah, during Drew's time away, he became a free agent. Nick Aldis scooped him up. He made the phone call first, or they worked out a deal or whatever. 'I told Adam Pearce I'm not coming back to RAW as long as CM Punk is there,''' he said. [50:20-51:05]
Ex-WWE writer thinks CM Punk must lose to Drew McIntyre at Bad Blood
While many expect CM Punk to defeat Drew McIntyre in the potential final chapter of their heated rivalry at Bad Blood, former WWE head writer Vince Russo has claimed that the opposite should happen.
Speaking on The Coach and Bro Wrestling Show on Sportskeeda Wrestling's Backstage Pass, Russo said that McIntyre needed the victory more than Punk.
"I'm gotta be honest with you. I'm betting on Drew because they beat Drew to death. I mean, they beat Drew to death. He's lost every single time. He's got to get his hand raised in one of these times. I think that is the safe bet. Being Hell in a Cell, there's a million ways you could beat Punk without hurting him," he said.
While McIntyre defeated The Best in The World at SummerSlam, the latter beat The Scottish Warrior in a Strap Match at Bash in Berlin. It will be interesting to see who emerges victorious at Bad Blood.
