Massive WWE Superstar will return tonight at SummerSlam after 118 days of absence, says ex-hostÂ
The WWE Universe is expecting several big moments to happen tonight at SummerSlam in Cleveland, Ohio. A former WWE host thinks one of these moments will be the return of a massive superstar after 118 days of absence.
The wrestler in question is none other than Roman Reigns. The Head of the Table was last seen on day two of WrestleMania XL when he lost his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship to Cody Rhodes. Meanwhile, Solo Sikoa has taken control of The Bloodline in the 39-year-old's absence, appointing himself the new Tribal Chief. He even ousted Jimmy Uso and Paul Heyman from the faction and added Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, and Jacob Fatu to the group. With Sikoa taking several shots at Reigns over the past few weeks, former RAW Talk host Matt Camp believes the latter will return tonight at The Biggest Party of the Summer.
Speaking on his The Wrestling Matt podcast, Camp claimed that the Stamford-based company has probably planned Reigns' potential comeback at SummerSlam for some time:
"I do believe Roman Reigns is coming back. And I believe it's been planned for a time because WWE has made a point to make those big moments happen on their big shows. They want that. They want that for storytelling. They want that for the company look as a whole," he said. [52:55 - 53:11]
Former WWE employee thinks Roman Reigns will not return alone
While discussing the potential comeback of Roman Reigns at SummerSlam on The Last Word, former WWE employee Tommy Carlucci claimed it would 100% happen. Meanwhile, he predicted that The Head of the Table would not return alone.
Carlucci claimed Reigns will return alongside his Paul Heyman. The Wiseman was last seen a few weeks ago on SmackDown when he got destroyed by Solo Sikoa's Bloodline group. The former employee also did not rule out the possibility of The Head of the Table having Jimmy Uso by his side:
"I think it's gonna be sometime during the match. And I wanna say Jimmy and Jey but I'm a little hesitant on the Jey part of it. I wanna say Jimmy is gonna come with him and I know The Wiseman. And it may by just Roman and The Wiseman. So, that music is gonna hit and just for the effect of listening to that crowd pop and not seeing this guy in three months. And we all know he left the heel but Solo's made him a babyface right now. [...] Whatever's gonna happen, he's gonna be a part of SummerSlam. There's no way he's not showing up, Coach," he said.
With Cody Rhodes and Sikoa squaring off in a Bloodline Rules match at SummerSlam, it would be interesting to see if Reigns would return during the fight or afterward, if he shows up.
