Matt Cardona furious; calls for former WWE star to be "deported"
A furious Matt Cardona recently took to social media to call for the deportation of a released WWE Superstar. The name in question is Elias, now known as Elijah.
The 36-year-old joined World Wrestling Entertainment in 2014 and started performing for the company's developmental brand, NXT. The star jumped ship to the main roster in 2017 and made a name by winning the 24/7 Championship four times before getting released from the Stamford-based promotion on September 21, 2023, alongside several big names.
Elias has now returned to the independent circuit. He was recently seen in the World Wrestling Series (WSW), where he took out Matt Cardona with his guitar. Following this, Cardona took to X/Twitter to call for the former 24/7 Champion's deportation.
"[Elijah] should be deported for attacking an injured man (ME!) from behind with a guitar! [WSWWrestlingAUS," he wrote.

Chelsea Green believes Matt Cardona will return to WWE soon
During an edition of INSIGHT with Chris Van Vliet, Chelsea Green said that she was patiently waiting for her husband, Matt Cardona's return to WWE.
Green also mentioned that it was only a matter of time before Cardona returned to the Stamford-based promotion.
"I am patiently waiting. Because not that I want to be partnered up with him [Matt Cardona] in WWE. That would be great. I think we could have an amazing mixed match, tag team division, whatever it is. But I don’t know. I don’t know why, I would love to know why. I would love to be a fly on the wall of kind of like the meetings of the top guys in WWE. But I do feel like in my heart of hearts, it’s only a matter of time, it feels crazy that he wouldn’t be," she said.
Matt Cardona has already proven his worth in World Wrestling Entertainment by winning several titles including the Intercontinental Championship and the United States Championship. The self-proclaimed "Indie God" is also making waves on the independent wrestling scene. It will be interesting to see if Cardona will return to the Stamford-based promotion soon.
