Matt Cardona gives honest take on Chelsea Green becoming the first WWE Women's US Champion

Matt Cardona has commented on how he feels about his wife, Chelsea Green, becoming the inaugural WWE Women's United States Champion. He stated that she's earned it, especially after everything she went through.

The Hot Mess was released from her WWE contract in April 2021, a year after her husband was let go. She returned to the company in January last year, and at Saturday Night's Main Event last week, she defeated Michin and forever etched her name in the history books.

Matt Cardona recently shared a clip on X expressing his pride in Chelsea Green for becoming the first WWE Women's United States Champion.

"Chelsea Green, new first-ever Women's United States Champion. Beyond proud of her. I can't even put into words how proud of her I am. I wish I was there in Long Island, but I'm here, I'm working; she understands that. I saw this girl get rejected from WWE, had to beg for tryouts, then got a job, then got fired. Worked her a** off on the indies, then got back. So, she's earned this. So I'm beyond proud and she wore one-legged tights, Zack Ryder style. Did the Rough Ryder on Long Island, so thanks, babe. I appreciate you."

Chelsea Green and Matt Cardona are the first married couple to win a United States Championship in WWE

Matt Cardona competed in WWE as Zack Ryder before he departed the company. He won three titles during his time over there.

His first singles title was the United States Championship, which he won in 2011. His title reign only lasted 29 days.

Now that his wife Chelsea has won the Women's US Title, they have made history. They are the first married couple to win a US belt in WWE. The Hot Mess reacted to this on X and wrote that it can't be taken away from them.
