Matt Riddle opens up about life after WWE

Matt Riddle has been a free agent in the professional wrestling scene since September 2023, with a strong background in both WWE and the UFC. Over a year after getting released by World Wrestling Entertainment, Riddle has reflected on his personal growth and life since leaving the company.

While he still wrestles for other promotions such as Major League Wrestling and Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide, among others, The Original Bro revealed that he is more content now due to his relaxed schedule. However, he admitted that his past work helped him get dates. Riddle's next match for MLW is with another former WWE Superstar, Dijak, at Eric Bischoff's ONE-SHOT event scheduled for December 5.

Speaking on Barstool Rasslin', Matt Riddle looked back on his highs and lows from the past. When asked if he was happy with his work today, he enthusiastically described how he feels about his current status:

"Yeah, you know what? Honestly, my schedule is a lot more loose. And I'm my own boss now. For so long, I was an independent contractor, working for WWE. But I was still like an employee there, kind of like the UFC. I feel like now, for the first time, a free agent, with a lot of value behind my name, having done the WrestleManias, RK-Bro, working MLW, plus with the UFC background," Riddle stated. He added that he loves his current routine, which includes a lot of traveling, wrestling, and branching out into the cannabis industry. The former WWE Superstar even responded to potentially returning for Goldberg's retirement match.

Matt Riddle believes RK-Bro will reunite eventually

Earlier this year, Signed By Superstars hosted a virtual signing with Matt Riddle, where he touched upon a bevy of topics.

The King of Bros discussed his run in the tag team division, noting that he has unfinished business with Randy Orton and Pete Dunne. He expressed a desire to finish both those storylines should he return to WWE. Furthermore, he guaranteed the reunion of RK-Bro:

"I would say unless one of us passes away, it’s a guarantee (that I’ll reunite with Orton). One way or another, I mean, ideally, it would probably be in the ‘E’ but I don’t see how it wouldn’t happen. There’s no way. I mean I’m gonna get to Randy one way or another." [H/T: POST Wrestling]

A few months ago, during an interview with Sportskeeda Wrestling, Matt Riddle reiterated this sentiment. He added that Randy Orton still needs to be careful about his back, and he can help with that by re-forming the popular tag team.
