Matt Riddle reposts a fan's Instagram story with an interesting message ahead of Clash at the Castle 2024

Matt Riddle has been out of WWE for nearly a year now, and three months will mark one year since he left. Riddle reposted a story from a fan with an interesting message ahead of Clash at the Castle 2024.

Matt Riddle is undoubtedly one of the superstars who fans have missed the most since his WWE release. However, even he would admit that everything that happened was a result of his own doing and nothing that WWE did. If anything, the company gave him numerous chances, but his personal issues proved to be too much for him.

A fan posted a story with Matt Riddle, stating that he wished he was at WWE Clash at the Castle and that he missed seeing him on television.

Matt Riddle is currently in pursuit of the MLW World Heavyweight Championship, which is held by living legend Satoshi Kojima. It was also held by current AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland (who defeated Riddle to win the title), and Samoan family member Jacob Fatu holds the record for the longest reign with the title at 819 days.

Matt Riddle revealed that he was relieved by WWE release as more time passed

As time has passed, The King of Bros seems to have warmed up and accepted his WWE release. Perhaps it helps that he has been a very busy man since he began wrestling again at the start of the year.

Speaking to TV Insider in an exclusive interview, Matt Riddle said as time passed, he felt like his WWE release was a breath of fresh air:

"I was upset when I got fired from UFC. I was upset when I got fired from WWE. At the same time, getting fired from both of those places, I was extremely relieved because ever since I was younger, since 20, I’ve been under contract for someone for fighting or wrestling. Even now, I’m still wrestling and traveling and just as busy as before, but I finally have control. I know people might not understand that. But having the ability to say no and the ability to hang out with your family and just do what’s best for you sometimes is a breath of fresh air. It really takes a lot of stress out."

The 38-year-old does seem like someone who could return to WWE once he gets his life together again. Hopefully, he is in the process of that.
