Michael Cole takes a shot at The Pat McAfee Show

Michael Cole and Pat McAfee call the action of WWE RAW and seem to be having more fun than ever in this new era for the company. Cole took a shot at The Pat McAfee Show by throwing a jab at his colleague.

The Voice Of WWE and Pat began working together on SmackDown for several stints in 2021 and 2022 and reunited on RAW this past January. Outside of RAW, McAfee hosts a three-hour daily sports talk show named The Pat McAfee Show. The show has been on the rise ever since its launch in 2019. In December 2021, it inked a four-year $120 million odds provider deal with FanDuel and then signed a massive ESPN deal in September 2023 worth $85 million over five years.

Cole has appeared on The Pat McAfee Show before, but now he has somewhat of a permanent spot. An official t-shirt featuring WWE's Vice President of Announcing was recently displayed on a desk used by Boston Connor and Ty Schmit. Cole has earned his place alongside legendary names such as the New England Patriots, Dale Earnhardt, the University of Iowa wrestling team, and Dude Wipes, among others.

Michael Cole took to X/Twitter and shared a photo of the desk. He also threw a friendly jab at the show run by his broadcast colleague.

"Finally some class and actual journalism on the @PatMcAfeeShow.. Thank God. #WWERaw," Michael Cole wrote.

Michael Cole scales back on WWE duties

Michael Cole signed with WWE in mid-1997 after a nine-year journalism career that saw him work for CBS Radio. He started out doing voice-overs and then began hosting shows, doing backstage interviews, and providing commentary. Cole has even wrestled a dozen times.

Cole was promoted to the role of Vice President of Announcing in 2020, but even before then, he was instrumental in the company's broadcasting division. It was revealed earlier this month that Cole has been "pulled back" from his management duties so that he can concentrate fully on his work as an on-camera talent. This was said to be Cole's decision, one that WWE officials had no issue with.

Longtime employee Sue Cundaro has worked with Cole in managing the broadcasters. She was hired in 1995 to work as the Senior Manager of the Executive Producer's Office and was promoted to senior manager of TV production logistics in May 2014. She has been the Director of On-Air Talent Relations since October 2022 and is now taking on more duties.

Sources report that Sue Cundaro has taken over Michael Cole's management responsibilities. She will oversee the broadcast teams moving forward.
