Michael Cole and WWE send emotional message on RAW; make announcement
Michael Cole sent Pat McAfee condolences on WWE RAW on behalf of the company and himself. He also made an announcement.
McAfee and Cole have established themselves as the voices of WWE RAW over the last few months. Being paired up has done wonders for Cole, who's much freer when commentating with McAfee. Meanwhile, Michael Cole's experience has helped McAfee, too, allowing him to be himself and make every segment more entertaining through his unique brand of entertainment.
Unfortunately, McAfee went through a personal tragedy, as his father-in-law passed away unexpectedly, as a result of which he missed the previous week's show on the red brand.
Cole said that they and WWE wished Pat McAfee and his wife the best after RAW started. The commentator was not present on the show, and WWE sent their condolences to McAfee for his loss.
Following this, Michael Cole announced that McAfee would return to WWE and the commentary desk next week on RAW. This means that the star is likely to miss the Money in the Bank Premium Live Event this weekend, although that was not confirmed.
Details of what Michael Cole meant by the loss Pat McAfee's family has gone through
As it happens, McAfee's father-in-law was in hospital fighting an infection, and he was expected to be discharged on Sunday. That didn't work out, though, as while he was on his talk show, he got a call from his wife saying that he had to go to the hospital because there had been an emergency. When he headed there with his family, they found out that his father's condition had deteriorated and, ultimately, lost the fight.
"Yesterday was a day that will be remembered forever in our family because my father-in-law passed away unexpectedly. After the show ended yesterday, in a hospital here in Indianapolis. He’d been in a hospital, fighting an infection. On friday we were told that he was gonna be discharged by Sunday. They had figured it out and he was gonna be okay. So we all had high hopes and yesterday, literally as the show is ending, my wife calls me and says I have to get to the hospital because there had been an emergency."
We at Sportskeeda also send our condolences to Pat McAfee and his family during this time of loss.
