Michin shares her plans after failing to win Women's United States Championship
At Saturday Night's Main Event in New York, Michin failed to become the first-ever Women's United States Champion after losing to Chelsea Green. The star formerly known as Mia Yim shared her next steps after her bitter defeat.
The 35-year-old star made it through the final of the Women's U.S. Championship tournament after beating Lash Legend and Piper Niven in the first round. She then shocked Ms. Money in the Bank Tiffany Stratton on SmackDown to advance to the final but ultimately lost to her bitter rival.
In an interview with Jackie Redmond and Peter Rosenberg backstage, the self-proclaimed Princess of Extreme was a little emotional after her loss. But she regained her composure to warn Chelsea Green that she would be going after her newly won Women's United States Championship.
"Chelsea, you brought your big one today. Yeah, you won the title, but that just means that you have a large target on your back. I promise you, you are going to have to sleep with one eye open. Every time you come in the room, you have to check every single corner because, baby, I'm not going to stop until I get that title. I was this close and you think I was gonna walk away from it? Nah, I'm not done until I get mine (sic)," Michin said. [0:43 - 1:10]
Despite the loss, the former Retribution member was proud of her accomplishment and couldn't accept being the runner-up.
Triple H sends message to Michin after loss at Saturday Night's Main Event
Michin was one of several re-hires made by Triple H when he became in charge of WWE creative following Vince McMahon's retirement in 2022. It took some time, but the former member of The O.C. finally got some time on television and was involved in some interesting feuds this year.
Her best opportunity came at Saturday Night's Main Event for the Women's United States Championship. She was close to beating Chelsea Green, but it was not meant to be. Even though she lost, Triple H wrote a message for her after their match at SNME.
"Success is a journey… @MiaYim , you are well on your way," Triple H tweeted.
It will be interesting to see what's next for Michin given that Piper Niven had a hand in helping Chelsea Green win the title.
