WWE News: Mickie James' match at NXT Takeover: Toronto won't be her last, according to Magnus
After 6 years, Mickie James once again stepped inside a WWE ring at NXT Takeover: Toronto, where she unsuccessfully challenged Asuka for the NXT Women's Championship.
Recently, her husband, Nick Aldis who is also known as Magnus, had commented about this much-anticipated bout and had remarked that James would be stealing the show with her performance at the event. In an interview with PWTorch, the former TNA World Champion had commented:
“I know that she and Asuka are going to tear the house down.”
Praising the in-ring skills of the current NXT Women's Champion, he had mentioned that Asuka has the potential to deliver an amazing match with almost everyone she works.
During this interview, Magnus stated that the former Women’s Champion had been excited about her WWE return. He also conveyed his admiration towards her accomplishments in WWE and mentioned that James is also proud of what she has achieved.

Magnus added that Mickie James was so impressed with her initial stint in WWE that she wanted to have her last wrestling match in the company. However, he promises that her match with Asuka is not going to be the last time we will witness James inside the squared circle.
Magnus also addressed the rumours indicating the main roster return of the former WWE Women’s Champion. He felt that the WWE may decide to utilise her in the main roster depending on the reaction she receives at the upcoming Takeover event.
The reaction, as we now know, was greatly favourable, with the crowd chanting “You still got it” to a visibly overwhelmed Mickie.
Magnus said that it would be surprising if Mickie’s performance didn’t “lead to more” within the WWE, referring to him anticipating a stellar performance from the former Divas Champion. However, Magnus has no previous work experience in WWE and mentioned himself as “not the right guy” to discuss what the company may do.
Here’s what Magnus tweeted after the match between Mickie James and Asuka. Voicing his praise and support for his wife’s performance:
Yup, she crushed it.
