Mickie James sends heartfelt message to major stars ahead of WWE SmackDown

Former WWE star Mickie James took to social media today to send a heartfelt message to two major stars ahead of tonight's episode of SmackDown. James has not competed in a bout in the promotion since the Women's Royal Rumble Match in 2022.

Trish Stratus and Lita main-evented WWE RAW twenty years ago today. It was a groundbreaking match and Mickie James shared a video ahead of SmackDown to honor both Stratus and Lita. James noted that she remembered watching the match live and realizing that women's wrestling was changing.

"I just wanted to take a moment to show some love and some admiration for two very good friends of mine. Today marks twenty years to the day of history being made, or herstory, shall we? Trish Stratus, Lita, I love you so much. I remember little Alexis Laree (Mickie's former ring name), up and coming WWE Superstar, diva, watching this match live, and in that moment, realizing that the game was being changed for women like me," she said. Mickie James names WWE legend as person who would induct her into Hall of Fame

Mickie James shared that she would select Trish Stratus to induct her into the Hall of Fame.

Stratus was inducted into the company's Hall of Fame in 2013. James has had a legendary career in the business but has not been honored in the Hall of Fame yet. In an exclusive interview with Sportskeeda Wrestling in 2022, the 45-year-old shared that she would pick Trish Stratus to induct her down the line.

"I would say for WWE, Trish [Stratus] because she was my first. Just the first time, I won the championship, and she was there with me and helped guide me. My first real like two years there, year and a half like that whole to really get me ready, she took her time with me. She was patient with me because I knew how to wrestle. I knew how to work. I knew how to do all the things within the ring, but she taught me a lot of the stuff behind the scenes," she said.

Mickie James is set to be a part of a new WWE show on the A&E Network debuting next year. It will be interesting to see if the veteran is ever inducted into the company's Hall of Fame.
