Montez Ford makes bold statement ahead of WWE SmackDown; Bobby Lashley agrees

The WWE Universe has been vocal about a potential Montez Ford singles run. However, officials have kept Ford and Angelo Dawkins together as The Street Profits since early on in NXT. Despite recent significant failures, Ford just made a bold announcement ahead of SmackDown, which Bobby Lashley co-signed.

King Tez has pitched his own singles run, with immense fan support, but he's worked just 46 one-on-one bouts since 2015. Three of those were for EVOLVE, seventeen were in NXT, and just eighteen aired on main roster TV. The Profits have found major success as WWE's second Tag Team Triple Crown Champions and the fastest team to secure the achievement as they needed just 499 days, compared to FTR's 1,424 days and The New Day's 2,785 days.

Ford and Dawkins failed to dethrone NXT Tag Team Champions Fraxiom in early September, then came up short against WWE Tag Team Champions The Bloodline on last week's SmackDown, in a Ladder Triple-Threat Match that also included DIY. Ford took to Instagram today and shared clips from Friday's match, along with a screenshot of one shocked fan. The 34-year-old captioned the post with a statement declaring himself the greatest athlete in all of sports entertainment.

"I AM THE GREATEST ATHLETE IN ALL SPORTS ENTERTAINMENT," Montez Ford wrote with the video below.

Ford's declaration was co-signed by two people close to him. His wife, one-half of the Women's Tag Team Champions, Bianca Belair liked the post, as did Bobby Lashley, Ford's former stablemate in The Pride.

Ford's last singles match was a time-limit draw with Austin Theory on WWE Speed in early August. His last standard televised match was a SmackDown win over Santos Escobar on October 20, 2023, which came one month after his dark match loss to John Cena.

Montez Ford and Bianca Belair on WWE Family Feud

Montez Ford and Bianca Belair were among the superstars who competed on a special World Wrestling Entertainment edition of Family Feud. The episode was taped earlier this year and aired recently.

The show game featured Belair, Jade Cargill, Sonya Deville, Mia Yim, and Zelina Vega vs. Ford, LA Knight, Austin Theory, Bobby Lashley, and Angelo Dawkins. Ford and Belair face off in the couples-themed clip below.

Hulu premiered the first season of Love & WWE: Bianca & Montez this past February. The season featured eight episodes, but there's been no word yet on a second season of the reality series.
